After taking the Wilton Courses in 2010, I pursued my passion and continued to teach myself. Cake Creations by Mayra Estrada was established in 2012. I specialize in fondant techniques and sculpting. I am known for my unique styles and intricate details. I love working close with my clients to discuss ideas of incorporating elements from their event and implementing theirs to create a one of a kind design for their special day.
The success of my business was not overnight. There were lots of ups and downs in my journey. Regardless of those hurdles, I refused to give up and learned from my failures. With the love and support of my family I continued to pursue my love and passion as a cake decorator / designer. I spent hours teaching myself with online tutorials, reading and asking questions from those who generously gave their time in private groups. I made lots of free cakes for family to gain experience and self confidence in my work. I would set goals for myself further than I could reach in hopes that I would obtain them one day. I can honestly say that when you love what you do there is nothing that can stop you!
Today, I can proudly say that I am a multi-award winner for my Wedding cakes, I have been featured & published in worldwide magazines, Cake Central Magazine, American Cake Decorating, Cake Craft & Decorations, Pretty Whitty Magazine, DIY Wedding Magazine & Edible Artists Network Magazine & blogs, Satin Ice, American Cake Decorating, Cake Central, Cakes Décor, Marvelous Molds, Rainbow Dust, Sugar Veil and Between The Pages and several of my cakes were selected as Editor’s Choice on Cakesdecor.com.
I have freelanced for Charm City Cakes West in Los Angeles owned by Chef Duff Goldman and have competed on the Food Network Channel with my first appearance on Holiday Wars in 2018 and more to come!
